In the event of fresh snow, not all hiking trails can be groomed and opened at the same time. Please note that sometimes there can be dangerous icing on the paths. Check with the tourist office in advance about the situation on site.
A hike for hot summer days through shady forests with an amazing view from the Ottohöhe onto Afers valley and Brixen/Bressanone.
• Hiking time: 3h 20min • Trail numbers: 11, 5, 30 • Trail no. 11 starts in the centre of St. Peter (1150 m) and leads up to the farm Gsoihof along a stone-paved path. Stay on this trail, pass by the biotope „Veltierer Zente“ and then you reach the chapel Vikolerbild (1363 m). Turn left, follow trail no. 5 in the direction of the saddle Vikoler Jöchl (1410 m) and after about 15 min. turn left onto trail no. 30 which leads to the Wolf’s Pit (Wolfsgrube – 1535 m). Hike on trail no. 30 across the forest to the Ottohöhe (1460 m) and then to the cross Jochkreuz (1370 m). From there, hike down to the farms Jochhöfe and follow the road (no. 30) back to St. Jakob and St. Peter.
Through the Eisacktal/Valle Isarco valley to Klausen/Chiusa; turn into Villnöss/Funes valley and drive to St. Peter
