The excursion is located very beautiful and you walk between green meadows and woods. It extends on a big part on the back of the altiplano "Tschöggelberg", from Avelengo to Lavenna, the highest point of the Salto.

The romanesque church St.Jakob on the Langfenn is positioned on the most visible and on the highest point of the Salto (1525m). The church stands on prehistoric ground and could tell us probabely many interesting and exciting historical things. On the altar we can see Saint Jakob, the protector of all hikers, and on his side the two Patrons of the pest, Rochus and Sebastian..

The excursion starts at the parking place of Avelengo, on walking path no. 16. This way leads to the malga Leadner Alm. From here you take path 38 to Waldbichl, where you follow path no. 5 and later 15. On path 15 you will reach again the way no. 38. At last you have to take the walking path no. 1 which leads you directly to Lavenna.

If you come by car from Brennero, take the motorway A22 until the exit "Bozen Süd". Here you can take the highway MeBo in direction to Merano (SS38) until you reach the exit of Terlano. At Terlano begins the mountain road to Mölten. You can also take the MEBO exit of Vilpiano and take the cable car to Schlaneid / Mölten.
