The tour to San Osvaldo sweeps round both hills to the west of Castelrotto/Kastelruth and Siusi/Seis: the Collina di Tisana/Tisenser Hügel and the Colle di Laranza/Laranzbühl. In terms of riding technique, it is not a particularly difficult route but nevertheless, you should not underestimate the level of fitness required.

The tour begins in the centre of Castelrotto. Follow a side road to Tiosels and then take the main road uphill to the Maso Schgagul mountain farm. Then follow the gravel road to the Laghetto di Radlmoos Weiher lake, downhill to the hamlet of Tagusa and along a small trail towards Tesimo/Tisens. Just before the village, the trail branches off towards San Osvaldo. The downhill stretch is extremely steep in parts and can be extremely slippery in autumn due to leaves.

The route then leads steeply downhill to the Rio Tisana/Tisenser Bach river. From here, an equally steep uphill stretch will take you to the Maso Lafogl/Lafogler Hof mountain farm and restaurant in San Osvaldo. The route then loops rounds the Laranza Hill towards Siusi/Seis. From Siusi, go through the Laranza Woods, past the sports centre in Telfen and back to Castelrotto. On this last stretch, you’ll have to push for a short distance.
