High above the tree line, the Alpine ridgeway (Langtauferer Höhenweg) stretches along the bright hillsides of the intire Langtauferer Tal valley. Duing the hike there are no refreshment stops so you shhould thke adequate supplies with you. In Melago/Melag and Curon/Graun, there are opportuities to have abreak and a snack.
The ascent begins in Curon on Reschensee lake. Follow markerno. 5 trought the larch forest. Agein and again the forest opens up to provide an uninterrupted view of the valley and the surraunding mountains. After reaching the Rossbädenalm Alpine farm (2,364), follow trail no. 4 over flat mountain pasures to the Pedross See lake. continuue on trail no. 4 to the Valzerschartl (2,672m). Soon after, cross the southeaastern ridge of the Wölfelekoopf mountain to reach the Gschweller Seen lakes. Then hike across the southern ridge of the Nauderer Hennesieglspitze peak to a junction. Head briefly downhill to the next junction. Bear left and continue across the slopes of the Äßerer Schafberg mountain till the ridgeway paht joins trailn no. in the uppermost part of the Mealtal valley. Descend via trail no. this trail initially heads down stieeply over the slopes bu gradually becomes less steep after Melago. The easy way to retunr to the starting point in Curon is by public bus.
