The walk begins at the valley station of the Seiser Alm cable car and leads firstly towards Salegg and shortly afterwards over a beautiful woodland trail (no. 2) through the Hauenstein forest. A slight descent takes you down to a wooden bridge which crosses the "Strasser Graben" before heading uphill again, over the beautiful "Tschurtsch" meadow with a view over the nearby Schlern, and up to Völser Weiher lake where you can jump in for a cooling dip on a hot summer’s day or, if you prefer, simply enjoy a stroll around the lake.
The path to Völs am Schlern (no. 1) takes you past the Zimmerlehen manor and a few farms, leading down through Obervöls and on to the village centre. You can return home by shuttle bus (no. 2) or the public bus service (no. 170) or, alternatively, walk back along the outward route.
Starting point is the valley station of the Seiser Alm cablecar. Reachable with the shuttle buses no. 2, no. 3, no. 3A and no. 5/15.
