ATTENTION: The direct path, which leads up from the former high ropes course, is closed. Therefore, on the way back, take the same way back - 10 minutes below the castle, take the path that branches off to the right.

Neuhaus Castle Ruins (Maultasch) Neuhaus Castle was probably built in the early 13th century as a double castle: today only the walls remain. These were carefully restored, so that visitors can imagine what life was like there, in early times.

Starting point for this hike is the parish church in Terlano, worth a visit for its frescos from the early 15th century. Follow the Via Chiesa which starts here and in 20 just minutes the trail leads up to the Liebeneich residence. Turn right here. Go past the Hochbrunner farm and you come to the road that leads up to Meltina. Cross this road and the Margarethe Promenade branches off to the right of trail no. 9 up towards Monticolo / Montigl. After approx. 30 min. the Promenade joins a trail leading directly and steeply up from the state road. Follow this trail for about 10 minutes to reach the ruins of Neuhaus Castle (Ruine Neuhaus). Fantastic panoramic views of the Etschtal can be enjoyed from here.

Descend via the same trail or via the direct path, which leads up from the former high ropes course.
