Challengingmountain bike touron the NörderbergaboveCastelbello-Ciardes.
The starting point for this mountain bike tour is the Etschbrücke bridge in the centre of Castelbello/Kastelbell village (577 m). From the Etschbrücke in Castelbello the Uphill Marzoneralm trail first leads over a very steep paved mountain road to the hamlet of Montefranco/Freiberg (1,200 m). Above Montefranco near the Pramanthof farm (km 6.6), the surface changes to gravel and the gradient is no longer so steep. The forest road winds its way up to the 'Säge' car park (1,480 m) and on to the Marzoneralm Alpine farm (1,600 m). The first part is the technically easy section (S1) of the Fontana trail but it then becomes more difficult (S2). As it approaches the valley, the trail becomes more challenging (S3). Along the way, various entrances and exits onto the paved Tomberger Straße road are possible. The end of the tour is the Etschbrücke in Ciardes/Tschars.
