Cross Country Tour around the landmark of Schluderns: the Churburg, one of the best preserved castles in South Tyrol

Route description

From the information office in Schluderns, ride reverently past the Churburg castle towering over Schluderns. Take the cortyard street in the direction of "Lochhof", "Schlosshof" and "Mühlhof" to reach the centre of Matsch (1.600 m), the mountaineering village, where you can stop for refreshments. Continue along the The Venosta Valley High Mountain Trail to the "Sonnenberg" mountain above Muntetschinig. After a short pushing passage, the Malettes viewing platform appears below the Spitzige Lun and invites for a short rest. Enjoy the descent via the forest path towards Muntetschinig and then via the "Matscher" path back to the village of Mals. Along the road, it is worth stopping at the "Pflanzgarten" to enjoy small regional dishes, coffee and cake while enjoying the magnificent view of the valley. Go back to Schluderns via the cycle path, passing Glurns.

Tip: The Castle Churburg, which towers proudly and magnificently over Schluderns, tells stories of knights, exciting tournaments, heavy armor, and enchanted forests.
